Volunteer Opportunities at The Cable Center

Some people volunteer because they meet new friends and feel connected. Others want to explore careers and learn new skills. Many find fulfillment in giving of their expertise for the good of others. Whatever reason prompts you to volunteer, we thank you!

Without volunteers, The Cable Center would be far more limited in what we can do. Volunteers allow us to expand our collections and present more content and educational opportunities to the public and the cable industry itself. If you'd like to help, please explore the opportunities listed below.

Volunteer at the Barco Library

The Barco Library – Photograph Collections Volunteer
Assist with filing, help to identify people in photographs, assist with preservation work. We ask a commitment of two to four hours, once a week. All training will be provided. For more information, please contact our Senior Librarian at 303-871-4679.

The Barco Library – Information Files Volunteer
Assist with organization of files. We ask a commitment of two to four hours, once a week. All training will be provided. For more information, please contact our Senior Librarian at 303-871-4679.

The Barco Library – Manuscript Collections Volunteer
Help produce preliminary collection inventories and organize collections. We ask a commitment of two to four hours, once a week. All training will be provided. For more information, please contact our Senior Librarian at 303-871-4679.

The Barco Library – Video Collection Volunteer
Assist with a survey of video collection and production collection inventories, specifically work on the Les Read donation. We ask a commitment of two to four hours, once a week. All training will be provided. For more information, please contact our Senior Librarian at 303-871-4679.
