TZeroThe Complete High-Definition Home

Overview:
Consumers today are interested in more than just the delivery of high-definition to their houses; they also want it easily distributed throughout their homes. Unfortunately, high definition content is so data intensive that it often outstrips the capacity of the cabling already installed in most homes. Add to that the myriad number of communication devices now found in homes – digital video recorders, high definition televisions, set-top boxes, personal computers, and home theaters – often from multiple manufacturers, and the desired distribution of high definition becomes very challenging.

Through a combination of innovative wired and wireless technology, Tzero can now overcome these challenges using the two pieces of hardware on display in this exhibit. The company’s ZeroWire™ ultra wideband to coax bridge delivers high definition throughout the home over existing cable wiring. The second piece of hardware, ZeroWire HDMI, eliminates the need for expensive and cumbersome high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cables within rooms, so flat panel displays can be placed anywhere. Together, the two pieces allow consumers to create networks of high definition throughout their homes, all while dramatically reducing
installation cost and time.

Technology Displayed:
The technology displayed is powered by ultra wideband (UWB). These products are designed to enable extremely high bandwidth wired and wireless video and audio connections between all types of products, including high-definition televisions (HDTV), video projectors, digital video disc (DVD) players, set-top boxes, game systems, and other home entertainment devices. The ZeroWire HDMI product is designed to accept input from the following sources: HDMI, digital video input (DVI), component video, and analog audio. The output to the HDTV is industry-standard HDMI, DVI, and analog audio. Unlike proprietary offerings, this standards-based platform is guaranteed to coexist with other WiMedia devices, and is immune to interference
from other wireless networks and household appliances.
