DECKER ANSTROM NAMED BRESNAN ETHICS IN BUSINESS AWARD RECIPIENT

dAnstromThe industry's best networking event, the Cable Hall of Fame honors those in the cable industry who have made a lasting contribution to the advancement of the industry and will take place on May 5, in Chicago in conjunction with the INTX. In addition to the six 2015 inductees, Decker Anstrom will be presented with the Bresnan Ethics in Business Award.

The award honors outstanding men and women in the cable industry who best exemplify the standards upheld by Bill Bresnan, including understanding and doing what is right in the face of adversity and upholding ethical leadership qualities in everyday work situations.

"The Bresnan Ethics in Business Award is not only a wonderful honor, but also a very humbling one," said Anstrom. "I loved and respected Bill so much - and the previous recipients have all been true giants of our industry."

"Decker's leadership has helped to shape our industry into the thriving, innovating business it is today," said Bob Miron, retired chairman and chief executive of?cer, Bright House Networks, and chairman of the Bresnan Award selection committee. "His commitment to public service and philanthropy is unrivaled, and we are delighted to honor him with the Bresnan Ethics in Business Award."

A long time industry veteran, Anstrom currently serves on the board of directors of Discovery Communications, as well as on the boards of several non-pro?t environmental groups.

BEACON AWARDS® HONORING CABLE INDUSTRY COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The American Cable Communicators (ACC) Beacon Awards® have been cable's highest recognition of communications and public affairs excellence since 1989. The 2015 entry deadline for the Beacon Awards® is March 20, 2015. All entrants need to do is submit a one-and-a-half to two-page project summary, completed entry form and payment, all of which may be emailed to ACC. All Beacon Award® entries must represent work executed and results achieved between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2015.

Organizations eligible to enter the Beacon Awards are: cable operators, regional and national cable networks, state and regional associations, marketing co-ops and vendors (hardware and software providers). Additionally, advertising and public relations agencies may enter with the permission of the client cable system or network.

New this year, the 2015 Beacon Awards® have added 12 new entry categories. The categories are: Crisis Communications, Educational Materials, Events/Observances Internal & External, Events/Premieres, Mobil Apps, Programming Special or Miniseries Event, Programming Series, and Social Media Integrated Communications. Plus, six Social Media Campaign Vehicle topics have been added, including, the best use of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Video Channels and Emerging Social Tools.
