The Cable Center Names Cable Hall of Fame Class of 2017


DENVER – The Cable Center announced today the members of its Cable Hall of Fame class of 2017. The six newly elected trailblazers will be inducted during the 20th annual Cable Hall of Fame celebration, held on April 26 in Washington D.C.

Cable Center Blazes the Trail with Immersive Online Educational Experience

New Exhibit Uses Virtual Reality to Create Unprecedented
Access to Historical Collections

DENVER, Aug. 2, 2016The Cable Center, a local nonprofit educational organization that tells the story of the cable industry, is using groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) to bring its historical equipment and technology archives to the world via an innovative new online exhibit. The Cable Center will demonstrate its work so far on a pioneering VR Exhibit during the 80/95 Awards, part of Millennial Weekend Denver, an event that promotes and presents ideas and trends reflecting the impact of Millennials on culture and society, Aug. 17-19 at the Denver Post, 101 W. Colfax Avenue Denver, CO 80202.

The Cable Center Adds Peter Stern's Oral History

Former Time Warner Cable Executive Shares His Story

DENVER, June 13, 2016 – As part of its Cable History Project, The Cable Center announces the entry of Peter Stern’s oral and video history into The Hauser Oral History Collection. Stern was most recently the executive vice president and chief product, people and strategy officer at Time Warner Cable. Stern was interviewed by Seth Arenstein in New York City this past November.

Cable Center INTX Panel Discusses the Fusion Approach and How it Can Reinvigorate the Subscription Economy

DENVER, May 12, 2016The Cable Center announced today that it will present a panel discussion on the subscription economy and how “learning from others” can be used to reinvent customer service and reinvigorate a company’s bottom line by during the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) Internet and Television Expo (INTX), at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Add Fusion and Stir: The Creative Magic of Blended Thinking ... And How You Can Prosper From It will be held Tuesday, May 17, from 11 a.m. – 12p.m. EST in room East 3 at the INTX Marketplace. The session will be followed by a lunch, sponsored by American Express, for attendees and invited guests in The Grove.

DENVER, April 12, 2016 – The Cable Center is pleased to announced that Katty Kay, lead anchor on the BBC’s flagship U.S. newscast “BBC World News America,” will return to emcee the 19th annual Cable Hall of Fame. The Cable Center will host the Cable Hall of Fame celebration on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Westin Boston Waterfront, in conjunction with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) Internet and Television Expo (INTX).

The Cable Center Names 2016 Cable Hall of Fame Honorary Committee

DENVER, March 16, 2016 – The Cable Center announced today the members of its 2016 Cable Hall of Fame Honorary Committee. The committee members will serve as the official ambassadors for the Cable Hall of Fame celebration. The committee is chaired by Michael Willner, president and CEO, Penthera Partners, Inc. Mike Fries, president and CEO, Liberty Global serves as international chair.

Cable Center Names Amos B. Hostetter, Jr. 2016 Bresnan Ethics in Business Award Recipient

To Be Honored During Cable Hall of Fame Celebration

The award honors the late William J. Bresnan, founder and chairman of Bresnan Communications and long-time chairman of the board of The Cable Center. Hostetter will be presented the industry accolade at the 19th annual Cable Hall of Fame celebration, May 16th at the Westin Boston Waterfront, in conjunction with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) Internet and Television Expo (INTX).
