Stanley M. Searle

Owner (retired), Searle Communications

Mr. Searle's cable career began in the publications arena. Stan, with his brother, Robert, published TV Communications and CATV Weekly, the earliest exclusively cable trade publications, providing a forum to exchange ideas, follow legislative issues and keep abreast of technological innovations. Stan and Robert also provided the first "dailies" at the NCTA Show in 1966.

Stan and partner Pat Pogue built their first cable system in 1965 and Stan was CEO of the company which, during the next 20 years, operated systems in more than 50 communities. Beginning in 1986 he headed Searle Communications which owned systems in Colorado that were sold to Adelphia in 2000.

Stan helped found several organizations: National Cable Television Institute, Cable TV Pioneers, Small Cable Business Association (American Cable Association), and National Cable Association PAC.
