The Third Millennium Society encompasses every gift made to The Center—from one dollar to several million dollars. As every donor is important to achieving our mission, we feel it is equally important to recognize the people, organizations, and companies who help to ensure our success. It is a small way of showing our gratitude for each of our donors.

To house our world-class information and education resources, we needed a centralized headquarters. From 1997-2003, the Capital Campaign raised over $60 million toward this goal. These donations not only built our facilities, but launched many initial programs and helped to recruit an experienced and professional staff.

The Education Campaign will create permanent funds supporting The Cable Center’s operations, educational programs, and technology. Contributions toward this giving campaign are placed in Beverly O’Brien Endowment for the Third Millennium. Launched in 2004, our current giving campaign continues to reach toward this $65.5 million fundraising goal.

The foundation of The Cable Center was built during the Legacy Campaign, which ran from 1985-1996. The corporations, individuals, and organizations that made contributions to The Center as Legacy donors were inspired by the very idea of archiving the cable’s milestone moments and educating others about cable’s cultural and technical achievements.

The Cable Center’s Founding Shareholders are donors who have contributed toward establishing our general operating endowment. Spanning the three giving campaigns, Education, Capital, and Legacy, these donors are ensuring our future financial stability and growth. Each share represents a $100 investment in our mission, programs, and sustainability.

The Loyal Order of the 704 is the society of cable engineering pioneers named after the Jerrold 704 Field Strength Meter. Founded in 1994 by engineers who felt they had gotten the “shaft” in terms of industry recognition, the group is now one of cable’s most active organizations. True to its founders, the Order has named The Cable Center’s freight elevator shaft.

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the cable industry through technical training, certification, and standards. Members of SCTE have joined together to create a tribute to cable’s engineering and technology leaders inside of The Center’s Technology Museum.

Whether for an industry training course or a university lecture, The Cable Center provides superior educational experiences using the most current cable services and equipment. Many companies and individuals have made generous in-kind or monetary donations to ensure that we can indeed deliver the most sophisticated learning experiences possible.
