NetCracker Supports Industry-Leading Customer Care Initiative

Cable Center Names NetCracker Co-Presenting Sponsor of Customer Experience Committee

DENVER, CO — November 11, 2014 — The Cable Center announced today that NetCracker Technology has been named a co-presenting sponsor of its Customer Experience Committee ("C5"). This is the second consecutive year that NetCracker has sponsored C5.

As a part of The Cable Center's Customer Experience Central initiatives, C5 is comprised of 25 invited members who represent leading cable operators in North America and Europe. The group holds semi-annual in-person meetings, providing the industry's senior customer experience management executives a forum to discuss common challenges, best practices and the latest innovations, as well as the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge customer care metrics and concepts from guest speakers. C5 member companies are then able to share these insights and new approaches to customer care with others in their field and their corporate colleagues. The Cable Center and C5 also present panels at industry conferences.

The Cable Center Names Cable Hall of Fame Class 2015

DENVER – The Cable Center announced today the members of its Cable Hall of Fame Class of 2015. The six newly elected industry leaders will be inducted during the 18th annual Cable Hall of Fame Celebration, held in conjunction with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) Internet and Television Expo (INTX), May 5-7, 2015, in Chicago, IL.

The new honorees are:

• Chris Berman, Sportscaster, ESPN
• Bill Roedy, Global Health Ambassador and Former Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks International
• Steve Simmons, Chairman, Patriot Media and Communications
• JC Sparkman, Chief Operating Officer, TCI, Retired
• Tony Werner, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Comcast Cable
• Eleanor Winter, Senior Vice President, NCTA

The honorees were chosen based on their dedication and contributions to the development of the cable industry. The 2015 Cable Hall of Fame selection committee was chaired by Michael Willner, president and CEO of GreatLand Connections and a member of The Cable Center's Board of Directors. Since 1998, 108 men and women have been inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame.

SCTE Circle of Eagles Bestow Honorary Membership  to Cable Center CEO

dsc 4057DENVER, Sept. 25, 2014 – Larry Satkowiak, president and CEO of The Cable Center was named an honorary member of the SCTE Circle of Eagles on Sept. 24th during the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo '14. Member leaders surprised Satkowiak with the honorary membership during the celebratory dinner held at The Cable Center.

In 1999, SCTE Charter Members voted at their annual dinner to allow new members. They formed a new exclusive group called The Circle of Eagles, encompassing those who laid the groundwork for the formation of SCTE, including SCTE Charter members, SCTE Hall of Fame members, Fellow Members, former SCTE board chairmen and presidents and other industry veterans. The first Circle of Eagles dinner was held in 2000.

Honorary membership into The Circle of Eagles is extremely rare; Satkowiak is only the second person to be bestowed entry into the esteemed organization. Wendell Woody, nominated Satkowiak saying, "Larry's leadership of The Cable Center and commitment to capturing oral histories preserves our legacy. In order to look to the future, we need to know where we came from. We appreciate that The Cable Center is telling our story."

Libby CaseyDENVER, April 17, 2014 – The Cable Center announced today that Libby Casey, Al Jazeera America’s Washington, D.C. correspondent, will emcee the 17th annual Cable Hall of Fame Celebration. The Cable Center will host the Cable Hall of Fame Celebration on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, in conjunction with The Cable Show 2014.

Libby Casey, Al Jazeera America’s Washington, D.C. correspondent, most recently hosted C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, the channel’s three-hour morning political and public affairs show. For Washington Journal, Casey was a host and producer, interviewing top leaders in Washington including former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, members of Congress, governors, journalists and think tank experts. Before C-SPAN, Casey worked for several years covering the state of Alaska for public radio. Casey has been recognized with a number of awards including Edward R. Murrow Awards, a Silver Reel and top awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. In addition, her series profiling soldiers killed in Iraq, “Remembering the Fallen,” earned her the Alaska Press Club’s Public Service Award.

Cable Center Names Nick Davatzes 2014 Bresnan Ethics in Business Award Recipient

To Be Honored During Cable Hall of Fame Celebration

DENVER (January 23, 2014) – The Cable Center announced today that Nick Davatzes, chief executive officer emeritus, A+E Networks has been named the .  Davatzes will be presented the industry award, honoring the late William J. Bresnan, founder and chairman of Bresnan Communications and long-time chairman of the board of The Cable Center, at the 17th annual Cable Hall of Fame Celebration, April 29 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE., in conjunction with The Cable Show 2014.

“I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of Bob Miron, Alan Gerry, Brian Lamb and of course Bill Bresnan,” said Davatzes.  “Bill was a dear friend, and his commitment to building a strong and ethical cable industry was second to none. I am honored to be named the 2014 Bresnan Ethics in Business Award recipient.”

“Nick has been at the forefront of so many innovations to the cable industry,” said Glenn Britt, chairman and CEO (Retired), Time Warner Cable, and chairman of the Bresnan Award selection committee.  “He has been a respected leader in our industry for many years, and is dedicated to contributing to his community through numerous philanthropic activities.
